According to Texas Instruments, they are working on and about to release technology that will allow 720p HDTV on items as small as a mobile phone. In case you didn't already know, TI(Texas Instruments) is the company that is responsible for DLP technology.
The company yesterday demonstrated what it calls the industry's first application processor to playback 720p high-def video for mobiles at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
The new technology is expected to out in 2008. If you are not a big fan of watching HDTV on a screen as small as a cell phone, you will have option of moving the picture to items such as projecotr screens, or even larger TV's!
So, what will this technology mean to items such as the Nintendo DS? How about the Sony PSP? Will this technology finally convinced Microsoft to enter the handheld business? Video game players will soon have the ability to play each other on handheld video game systems(DS,PSP,gameboy) via bluetooth, and in HDTV!
Naturally, the uses of this technology will be far reaching, but we believe there is little doubt the handheld video game market is in for a major revolution!
