What's So Good About HDMI Cables?

HDMI is the latest digital HDTV interconnection standard.
HDMI is a high-bandwidth digital connector whereas
S-Video/RCA are low-bandwidth analog connections. HDMI
is the de facto standard digital interface for HDTVs and
high- definition (HD) consumer electronics products.
Easier - No doubt, HDMI is easier to plug in than Component
cables and digital audio cables.

HDMI is a digital signal. HDMI is quickly becoming the
preferred method for connecting audio and video components
together. HDMI is a purely digital standard with the
capability to carry audio as well as video data.
A low-cost HDMI cable will do just as good of a job,
particularly at the distance of a few feet.

HDMI is a single-wire solution that will free you from
ugly, tangled and messy nests of audio and video
cables snaking behind your entertainment center. HDMI
is the only PURE digital Audio/Video Interface. Put
simply, HDMI is a new connection type that carries both
digital audio and digital video (at resolutions up to
1080p) in a single cable. HDMI is the state-of-the-art
connection for the highest quality digital image.

So you're saying the length of the HDMI cable doesn't
matter. Typically the maximum length for a 'standard'
HDMI cable is about 15 metres, however high performance
cables are available at much longer lengths. The more
length the signal has to cover, the more complicated it is
to restore the signal at the end of its path. A coupler may
be used to connect and extend a short length of HDMI cable
up to another five meters (16. Other length hdmi cables
also available. What IS the max length for an HDMI cable.
Digital Extender/Repeater's can extend HDMI lengths up
to 200 Feet.

HDMI is a digital signal. HDMI is rapidly emerging as
the connection standard for HDTV. HDMI is an outstanding
connectivity solution and it's no wonder its popularity is
spreading. I think HDMI is something everyone will be
hearing a lot about in the future. HDMI is clearly the
next step in digital media interfaces from DVI.
